The metallurgical characteristics and advantages of Jiuding silicon carbide:
1. It has good deoxidization and reduction effects to reduce oxides in the iron melt and improve the purity and fluidity of the iron melt.
2. Adding approximately 1.0% silicon carbide during melting process can extend the life of induction furnace lining by more than 10%.
3. It improves the metallurgical quality of the iron melt and inoculation effect.
4. In gray iron application, there is an increase in Type A graphite, with shorter morphologies, which could improve tensile strength of the castings.
5. In ductile iron application, there is an increase in spherical graphite and the shape becomes smaller, more rounded, and more uniformly distributed, which effectively improves the tensile strength and elongation of the castings.
Instruction for Jiuding SiC:
1. When adding silicon carbide to an induction furnace, it should be added when 1/3 to 2/3 of the charge is added. If the addition amount of silicon carbide exceeds 0.6%, it should be added in batches.
2. When producing castings with high quality requirement, the nitrogen content in silicon carbide needs to be strictly controlled to ≤300 ppm;.
3. When adding silicon carbide to an induction furnace, the recommended addition amount is 0.5 to 1.5%, with a particle size of 1 to 5mm.
