What are the differences between Chinese and foreign silicon carbide standards?
At present, China has basically established a standard system or standard framework system composed of national standards, industry standards, local standards and enterprise standards. At present, there are no mandatory standards for silicon carbide in China, and there are 14 recommended standards and five industry standards.
The national standard for the technical conditions of silicon carbide products (GB/ T2480-2008), which is currently implemented in China, provides for particle size composition, chemical composition, magnetic content, ferroalloy particles, density and other items according to different grades. The corresponding detection and analysis methods are all equivalent or equivalent to the latest version of the international standard ISO8486(F abrasive particle size composition), ISO6344(P abrasive particle size composition), ISO9286(chemical analysis method) and the European Abrasive Producers Association standard FEPA42GB, FEPA43GB, FEPA45GB; China innovatively formulated the standard for quantitative determination of silicon carbide cleanliness (JB/ T10151-1999); Abrasive toughness testing equipment was developed with reference to the American and Japanese standards, and the national standard "Ordinary abrasive ball grinding toughness determination method" (GB/ T23538-2009) was formulated.
Most of the developed countries in the world have operated the market economy for a long period of time, with sound laws and regulations and standardized competition mechanisms, often relying on the contract agreement between the buyer and the seller, and only formulating national standards or association standards involving the terminology, code, dimensional tolerance, particle size label/particle size distribution and test and analysis methods of various quality performance indicators.
The former Soviet Union (OCT25327-1984) and Japan (JISR6111-1998) have formulated physical and chemical performance standards for silicon carbide products, but their index requirements are much looser than China's national standards.
However, in the process of foreign technical exchange and trade cooperation, we found that the standard indicators of silicon carbide production enterprises and application enterprises in developed countries are far superior to the standards of their countries and our national standards in China. In particular, silicon carbide particle size sand and powder products, developed countries according to their use, according to the principle of special, precision, comprehensive utilization, divided into a variety of brands of special products, special products of the enterprise standard index requirements are different, so that producers and users find the best combination point, the product has the greatest benefit. Some items in China's national standards and some of the actual quality control of enterprises are not included in the test control items, such as: vibration density, specific surface area, cleanliness, toughness, conductivity and so on.
